Rua de São Domingos & rua de São Victor
Igreja de São Victor [Church of São Victor de Braga]. Top of
the Baroque facade of this church, designed by the architect and sculptor André
Soares (Braga, 30 November 1720 - 26 November 1769), started to build in 1686
on the initiative of Archbishop Luís de Sousa (1677-1690, whose shield appears
in the great triangular pediment). The church was consecrated by Archbishop
João de Sousa (1696-1703) on 19 March 1689. The two sculptures on both sides of
the small pediment represent unidentified bishops or saints.
