Detail of the façade of the Palácio do Raio [Raio Palace], built in Baroque style between 1754 and 1755 according to a design by the architect André Soares (Braga, 1720-1769). In 1883 it became the property of the Holy House of Mercy (Santa Casa de Misericórdia) and settled in it some services Hospital de São Marcos [Saint Mark’s Hospital]. In 1912 the building became a major restoration. Restored again in 2015, currently it has a museum function. Since 1956 it is classified as Building of Public Interest.

Sé nova [New Cathedral]. Top of the baroque façade, finished at the middle of the 17th century, many years after the inauguration of the temple (1698) as church of Jesuit College. This contrasts with the lower part of the façade, built in Mannerist style.

Statue of King Dinis I of Portugal (Lisbon, 9 October 1261 - Santarém, 7 January 1325), founder of the first Portuguese University in Lisbon (1 March 1290), moved to Coimbra in
1308 and definitively installed in this city in 1537. The sculpture
is a work of 1943 by artist Francisco Franco (Funchal, Madeira,
9 October 1885 - Lisbon, 15 February 1955).

Rua de São Domingos & rua de São Victor

Igreja de São Victor [Church of São Victor de Braga]. Top of the Baroque facade of this church, designed by the architect and sculptor André Soares (Braga, 30 November 1720 - 26 November 1769), started to build in 1686 on the initiative of Archbishop Luís de Sousa (1677-1690, whose shield appears in the great triangular pediment). The church was consecrated by Archbishop João de Sousa (1696-1703) on 19 March 1689. The two sculptures on both sides of the small pediment represent unidentified bishops or saints.
