Gable and bell towers of Catholic Sacred Heart
Cathedral, whose construction began on 25 August 1884 and was completed on
9 November 1887. It was consecrated by the bishop of Dubrovnik on 14 September 1889. The building was designed in Neo-Gothic style with Neo-Romanesque elements by the Croatian architect Josip Vancaš (Sopron, Kingdom of Hungary, 22 March 1859 - Zagreb, 15 December 1932). The height of the towers, equipped with three bells each, is 43.20 meters. During the siege of Sarajevo (5 April 1992 to 29 February 1996), the temple suffered damage and was restored after the war in Bosnia.
