Memorial to dead of the two World Wars. The sandstone monument was made by the architect Charles Clayton Thompson (Derby, 1863-1932), and the sculpture (a bronze figure of a mother and child) is a work of the artist Arthur George Walker (London, 20 October 1861 - Parkstone, Dorset, 13 September 1939). This memorial was unveiled for first time on 11 November 1924 and was re-dedicated on 28 October 1994.
