Monumento all'Alfiere dell'Esercito Sardo [Monument to Ensign 
of the Sardinian Army]. This sculpture made in 1856 by the Swiss
artist Vincenzo Vela (Lingonetto, Mendrisio, 3 Mai 1820 - Mendrisio, 
3 October 1891), was donated on 15 January 1857 by the Milanese people to Sardinian Army in appreciation of their struggle against 
the Austrians occupants of Milan.
