Pomnik Adama Mickiewicza. A neoclassicist monument erected in honor of the poet Adam Mickiewicz (Nowogródek [now Navahrudak, Belarus], 24 December 1798 - Constantinople, 26 November 1855), constructed in 1897-1898 by the Franco-Polish sculptor Cyprian Godebski (Méry-sur-Cher, France, 30 October 1835 - Paris, 25 November 1909). The monument was ceremonially unveiled on 24 December 1898 on the 100th anniversary of poet's birth.
